Terms of Service

Effective: October 25, 2026

These terms cover your use of Ringkit — phone numbers, the AI receptionist, the API and the dashboard. They're written to be read. If anything here is unclear, email [email protected] and we'll explain it.

1. The service

Ringkit is business phone infrastructure. We give you phone numbers, answer and route your calls, and turn each call into a summary. An AI receptionist answers every inbound call and, based on rules you set, handles it, transfers the caller to your own team, or takes a message. You can use Ringkit from the dashboard or build on it through our API.

Some features are labeled beta. Beta features may change or be removed, and they don't carry the commitments these terms make for generally available features.

2. Accounts

You need an account to use Ringkit. You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract. If you sign up on behalf of a business, you confirm you're authorized to accept these terms for it.

Keep your login and API keys secure. You're responsible for activity under your account, including calls placed by apps or agents using your keys. If you think a key or login has been compromised, rotate the key and tell us right away.

The information you give us — your business details and the brief we build from your site and connected tools — should be accurate. The AI receptionist relies on it when it speaks for you.

3. Pay-per-minute billing

Ringkit has no plan, no platform fee, no seat fee and no monthly minimum. You pay for the numbers you keep and the minutes the AI receptionist spends on your calls:

Phone number$1.99 / month
AI receptionist$0.20 / min
Call notes & summariesIncluded
  • The first 10 seconds of every call are free. After that, each call is billed in 6-second increments, not rounded up to the minute. A call lasting 4 minutes 10 seconds is billed as 4 minutes.
  • For example, a 5-minute call costs about $0.98.
  • New businesses get $5 of free trial credit for calls. Your first number may run a 7-day trial on that credit; unless you top up before the trial ends, the number is released.
  • Ringkit is prepaid. You add funds to your wallet (minimum top-up $10), and calls and number fees are deducted from your balance as they're billed. Your billing history lists every call, its duration and what it cost.
  • The number fee applies for each month, or part of a month, that a number is on your account.
  • Prices don't include taxes. Where taxes or regulatory telecom fees apply, they're shown separately on your invoice.

There's no contract and no term commitment. You can cancel anytime; you'll get a final invoice for usage up to the moment you cancel. If we change prices, we'll email you at least 30 days before the change applies.

If a payment fails, we'll let you know and retry. If a balance stays unpaid, we may pause service until it's settled.

4. Acceptable use

Ringkit is for real conversations between businesses and the people they serve. You agree not to use it to:

  • Place robocalls, or autodialed or prerecorded calls, without the prior consent the law requires.
  • Send spam or unsolicited marketing, or call numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry or your own internal do-not-call list.
  • Spoof caller ID, impersonate another person or business, or mislead callers about who they're speaking with.
  • Harass, threaten or defraud anyone, or do anything illegal.
  • Interfere with the service, probe it for vulnerabilities outside our disclosure program, or resell it without our written agreement.

You're responsible for complying with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the Telemarketing Sales Rule, and the state and local telemarketing laws that apply to your calls. We may suspend numbers or accounts used for abuse, and we may block calls that carriers flag as unlawful.

5. Call recording & consent

Calls are recorded and transcribed to make the summary. Ringkit plays a consent notice on every call and follows two-party-consent rules by state.

That notice is a baseline, not a substitute for your own obligations. Some states, such as California, require every party to consent before a call is recorded. You're responsible for making sure recording is lawful for your business and your callers, including any additional notices your industry requires.

6. Transfers & messages

The AI receptionist answers in your business's name and follows your brief — your services, service area, rates and how you want calls handled. Ringkit doesn't staff your calls with its own people.

  • When your rules say so, it transfers the caller to a phone number you've given it, such as your own team's. The people who answer those numbers are yours, and you're responsible for them.
  • When no transfer applies or nobody answers, it takes a message and puts it in the call summary for you.
  • It doesn't make binding commitments for you — prices, discounts, warranties, schedules or contract terms — beyond what you've authorized in your brief.

You're responsible for keeping your brief and transfer numbers accurate and current.

7. Numbers & call forwarding

Numbers you get from Ringkit stay assigned to your account while it's active. Phone numbers are regulated, and in rare cases we may have to change or reclaim one if a carrier or regulator requires it. We'll tell you as early as we can if that happens.

Ringkit does not port numbers in. If you want to keep an existing number, it stays with your current carrier and you forward its calls to your Ringkit number. Forwarding settings and any charges for them are between you and that carrier.

You can release a Ringkit number at any time. Once released, or when you leave Ringkit, a number is no longer assigned to your account.

8. Availability

Calls run on redundant carrier routes in multiple US regions. Status page and incident history are public.

At launch, Ringkit doesn't offer an uptime guarantee or service credits. Phone service depends on carriers and other providers outside our control, and outages can happen; check the status page for current incidents. Ringkit isn't a replacement for emergency services — don't rely on it to place or receive 911 calls.

9. Termination

You can close your account anytime from the dashboard or by emailing us. We'll send a final invoice for usage up to the day you close.

We may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms, if it's used for abuse or fraud, or if a law or carrier requires us to. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

Before you close, you can export your call history, recordings and summaries. After closure, we delete your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Limitation of liability

Ringkit is provided "as is." To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties such as merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

To the extent the law allows, Ringkit isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Governing-law and dispute-resolution terms will be added after counsel review.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product changes. If a change is material, we'll email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. The effective date at the top of this page always shows the current version. Using Ringkit after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
